Chiropractic care helps to keep your horse's nervous system functioning smoothly - and that's important for all aspects of his well-being and ability to perform.
The nervous system is the communication network of the body. It relays messages to coordinate movements and physiological processes throughout your horse's body. Any interference to the spinal function can impede the nervous system from functioning at its best.
*Restoring Mobility
When one area of your horse's body can't move, he must make compensations in other areas. This abnormal motion leads to altered function of the limb. If left uncorrected, this altered motion can lead to tendon and ligament injuries and chronic joint changes. Evidence-based medicine shows that chiropractic care helps restore a more normal movement in the horse, which may help prevent career-ending problems.

Vernon Jahn has been a farrier for over 30 years. His knowledge of equine hoof care is supported by his numerous success stories of horses that continue to perform and remain sound for his clients. Vernon takes an analytical approach to shoeing. He addresses the overall hoof care and balance of the horse. He understands that how a horse lands on the foot/hoof determines future injuries or soundness of the horse.
*Farrier and Hoof Care Specialist
Vernon is a specialist in equine hoof-care. This includes the trimming and balancing of horses' hooves and the placing of shoes on their hooves, if necessary. Vernon combines some blacksmith's skills (fabricating, adapting, and adjusting metal shoes) with some veterinarian's skills (knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the lower limb) to care for the horses' feet.
Vernon works closely with veterinarians to provide clients with the best results when addressing a horse with a challenging hoof situation. The majority of breakdown and lameness concerns in the performance horse with musculoskeletal disorders can be directly traced to hoof imbalances. This is due to the abnormal and unequal forces transmitted up the horse's limbs, placing undue stress and concussion on joints, tendons and other supportive structures.
A highly skilled equine hoof-care professional not only shapes and fits horse's shoes, but also can clean, trim, and shape horse's hooves. Vernon's areas of expertise include:
*A straight hoof pattern angle
*Easy break over
*Horse shoeing & trims
*Designs specialty shoes & pads
*Adequate heel support
*Medial-lateral balance
